Best of all, growing any seeds hydroponically is a super easy hobby to get started and maintain year-round. Let’s take a look at the best seeds to grow in your AEVA & EVE.

Lettuce

Lettuce is one of the best plants to grow hydroponically because of its rapid growth, high yield and flexible growing conditions. The Buttercrunch variety of lettuce receives its name from the sweet buttery flavor and its crisp ruffled outer leaves.

Basil


The most popular and well-known variety of Basil, Genovese Basil, is ready to harvest in as little as 6 weeks from seed in a hydroponic system (with the right conditions). This variety is traditionally incorporated in Italian cuisine and is most commonly used for pesto sauce. However, because of it’s intense taste, you can also use it to garnish drinks, salads, soups, pasta, and desserts.

Wasabi Arugula

Wasabi Arugula, a lesser known variety of arugula, packs a punch. It has a spicy and tangy taste that is akin to wasabi or horseradish. Your taste buds are then met with nutty and slightly bitter sweet undertones. The distinct flavors of Wasabi Arugula are instant and potent, however, the nose-tingling feeling is slightly less intense compared to true wasabi. Wasabi Arugula is perfect for pizza or mixed in with your next salad for a kick of flavour.

Serrano Peppers

If you can't deal with the heat, get out of the kitchen. The Serrano Chile Peppers are highly productive with large, straight, firm-bodied, bright green fruits. The fruits are traditionally eaten green but also make excellent chipotles when ripened to a mature red. A word of caution, this variety of chili pepper is five times hotter than jalapeños, so be ready to breathe fire.
