Seneca College
Just Vertical and Seneca College have been collaborating for several years on research and key indoor growing infrastructure projects.
A keystone of this research focused on measuring the nutrition of different plants grown with Just Vertical farms vs. store-bought produce. Through our collaborative research, we were able to determine that our farms produce more nutritious produce than store-bought produce, helping us better understand the impact of our farms.

Our founders are proud UofT alumni — and we’ve continued to work closely with the university through collaborative research projects.
In the early days of testing our farms, we partnered with UofT to evaluate their impact inside Revera’s urban senior homes in Toronto, where opportunities for hands-on interaction with plants and fresh food were scarce. What we saw was more than growth. Residents experienced improved morale, renewed curiosity, and a shared sense of purpose. The farms became living centrepieces — sparking conversation, engagement, and connection.

CTAAN
The Centre for Technology Adoption for Aging in the North
The Centre for Technology Adoption for Aging in the North (CTAAN), in collaboration with Just Vertical, conducted ADEPT Workshops to evaluate the impact of indoor farms in healthcare facilities, focusing on food availability, accessibility, and meaningful engagement.
CTAAN’s pioneering research revealed these farms as a promising solution for improving quality of life, well-being, and food security for older adults, caregivers, and healthcare systems in northern and rural communities.

District Ventures Capital, a venture capital fund led by Arlene Dickinson, has a long-standing strategic partnership with Just Vertical, established through an equity investment in Just Vertical.
Our alliance was developed in line with District Ventures' focus on investing in groundbreaking businesses within the food & beverage and health & wellness industries. Just Vertical, known for its vertical farming solutions, caught the fund's attention due to its potential to revolutionize urban agriculture and sustainable food production.
The partnership includes financial investment from District Ventures, coupled with mentorship and industry expertise from Dickinson and her team. This partnership aims to accelerate Just Vertical's growth and market presence while diversifying District Ventures' portfolio in the evolving landscape of food technology.

We have worked Inertia PD to integrate their engineering expertise with our innovative farms, creating state-of-the-art, sustainable urban farming solutions for a range of use cases.
With a keen focus on making sure our farms are both practical and functional, we've worked with Inertia to continue to develop our farms and test new ways of designing indoor vertical agricultural grow systems.
