Welcome to our latest edition of ‘Meet The Team’. This edition we have our Co-founder and CEO, Conner Tidd!
Conner went to school at McGill University where he completed his Bachelor of Arts majoring in Environment and Development with a minor in Law. He then continued his post-secondary education at the University of Toronto where he completed his Masters of Sciences with Sustainability Management in the Business stream. (Yeah we know, that’s a mouthful).
Conner has been with Just Vertical even before there was such thing as Just Vertical. But if we want to get technical, he’s been with Just Vertical for 4 years!
His duties include making sure the company stays on mission by ensuring we stick to our growth plans (literally and figuratively). Conner’s job basically comes down to a mix of creating new strategies and making sure everyone’s collective effort is going towards pursuing those strategies. Defending his “King of Kale” title seems to weasel its way into his responsibilities too…
Here’s an inside scoop on what Conner has to say about Just Vertical, indoor growing, and more:
What do you love about being a part of the Just Vertical team?
“I love the passion for creating a better world, I love that everyone believes in the company and the vision of how we will change the world, and I love how smart and driven the whole team is.”
Why is indoor farming so important to you?
“I hate when my cilantro goes bad.”
What Conner is really saying is that indoor hydroponic gardening allows him to ensure he never goes a day where he has to worry about going to the store for cilantro because he’s able to grow it fresh indoors, year-round, and from the comfort of his own home.
If you had to tell a new customer one thing about Just Vertical what would it be?
“Our team is just as passionate about making the world a better place as our customers and that we are here to help whenever we can. We aren’t just another faceless corporation, we are real people who want real change.”
What are two truths and a lie?
- I actually don’t like cilantro
- When I was a small child I had to get 30 stitches because I smashed open a bubble gum machine to get the candy
- I played on the defensive line in high school football
Think you can scope out the lie? 🧐 Send us a DM on Instagram @just.vertical and we’ll let you know if you got it right!
