One of the deepest, most vibrant reds that you'll find of any variety of lettuce. Great to mix up any salad with a splash of color. High in antioxidants and features a delightfully earthy flavor.

SEED POD INSTALLATION

1. Begin by inserting the seeds into the plug. Aim for at least 2 seeds per plug.

2. Put the seeded plug into the grow grid in the black plastic tray. Fill the bottom black plastic tray halfway with cold water.

3. Spray the inside of the lid with warm water and make sure the vent is aligned at the top so the holes are 'open'.

4. Place the whole kit somewhere with light and warmth. Right beside the lights of your unit or a window works well too. Wait for your seeds to germinate.

5. Use a slender object like a pen or paintbrush to gently poke your seedlings out from the bottom.

6. Transplant into your AEVA or EVE directly with the plant matter facing the lights.

PLANT CARE

Requirements:
- Aqua Vega nutrients
- 18 hours of light per day

Nutrients:
When transplanting your seedlings into your AEVA or EVE, you will use Aqua Vega nutrients. Add 20ml of A and 20ml of B to the 12L reservoir to start and then after that add 10ml of A and 10ml of B every two weeks.

Harvesting:
You can harvest continually by taking only a few leaves from the outside or you can take the whole plant at once.

NOTE:
1. Taking more than 1/3 of the plant at once can shock and kill it so be careful.
2. If the main stem is going 'woody' then the plant is bolting and it is time for a new one.
3. If your plant is growing flowers and the stem is becoming solid wood it is time to replace it.

Storage:
Store seeds in a cool, dark and low-humidity environment

Grow a variety of plants, from superfoods to mixed greens and fruiting plants! Here are 3 easy steps to setting up your seed pods.

STEP ONE

Insert your seeds
in the peat moss plug

Carefully drop a few seeds inside the hole of the peat moss plug that was provided with your seeds order.

STEP TWO

Place the entire pod
into your vertical garden

On one of the plant holes of your vertical garden, insert the pod with the seeds.

STEP THREE

Watch your
seeds grow!

To ensure proper growth of your plant, make sure to put the appropriate amount of nutrients.

What can I grow?

You can grow over 200 varieties of plants, anything from leafy greens and herbs to flowering plants. Fruiting plants however cannot be grown to maturity in the EVE (tomatoes and strawberries are examples). Also note that growing root vegetables is not compatible with vertical farming.

Do I need soil?

No soil is needed; the AEVA and EVE use grow plugs made from peat moss, an important component that releases moisture to plants as needed.

What about fertilizers?

For basic and optimal care for your plants, it is recommended to use fertilizers. The AEVA and the EVE use organic and salt-based liquid nutrients as fertilizers. To learn more about caring for your AEVA and EVE, consult the User Guide here.

How do I give seeds best chance to germinate?

Run warm water over seeds before placing the seeds in the grow plug and spray the seedling kit dome with warm water every day until germination.

How long will seed pods last if I don't use them right away?

As long as the seeds are stored appropriately (cool, dry and dark environment) and the peat moss plugs are kept dry, they can last a few months.

If I order seeds do the plugs come with it?

For every 1 seed order, you will receive a grow plug.
